Summer Meals Jaws Youth Playbook

22 million kids across the country rely on school meals. When schools close for summer often those meal programs shut down too. For 22 million children, summer is the hungriest time of year. That’s why Ron Jaworski’s Foundation, Jaws Youth Playbook, finds the most in-need area to donate funding to ensure each child never goes hungry.

Our Impact

According to Feeding America, 22 million kids across the country rely on school meals. When schools close for summer often those meal programs shut down too. Children during the summer often go hungry during these months.

That’s why Ron Jaworski’s Foundation, Jaws Youth Playbook, partnered with The Sunday Love Project to provide the Kensington Soccer Club with a $2,500 donation! Kensington Soccer Club runs throughout the summer and included activities geared toward soccer, reading, art, and social justice. With JYP’s charitable donation, Sunday Love Project is able to provide each camper with a nutritious meal to go home with every day!

Ron Jaworski’s Foundation, Jaws Youth Playbook, donated $3,500 to Vineland Police Athletic League to support their summer meals program and their summer trips. Vineland PAL Summer Camp welcomes all the children ages 8-12 years old within the inner-city area of Vineland, which has a large percentage of at-risk youth. During camp, the kids are educated on anti-gang activities, drug awareness, health, and child abuse while also having the opportunity to meet with first responders (Police, EMS, and Fire Dept.). The children will travel on several academic and recreational trips throughout the summer. With the necessary funds JYP provided, they were able to take their group to Storybook Land in Mays Landing, New Jersey, for a fun day out!

NDS is an agency of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and their mission is to provide meals, food assistance, and additional support to organizations serving children and the low-income citizens in Philadelphia.

With the support of JYP, NDS was able to purchase hula hoops, u-grow garden kits, sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, balls of all sorts, and games for the children during their summer camp to help them stay healthy and active!  During our visit, the kids were able to learn about healthy eating, different types of fruits, and even making their own yogurt parfait!Summer Meals 2022 | Nutritional Development Services in Philadelphia
