New Community Garden for Roosevelt Elementary in Germantown!

Ron Jaworski’s Foundation, Jaws Youth Playbook, broke ground with Greener Partners to clean and rebuild Roosevelt Elementary School’s community garden in Germantown. This new garden will provide fresh fruit and vegetables for the community, while also allowing kids to learn more about gardening and cooking healthy meals on a budget.

Greener Partners focuses on strengthening community health through urban farming, equitable fresh food access, and discovery-based learning. Through this partnership, Jaws Youth Playbook also provided a $10,000 donation to Greener Partners towards the development of this garden and the community garden at Alain Locke Elementary, presented at our ground-breaking build & clean-up day!

Roosevelt Elementary will be providing students with after school & summer programs to teach children how to tend and grow fresh fruits and vegetables in their brand-new community garden. Our foundation is beyond excited to see this become not only a beacon of access to healthy food for community members but also an incredible learning opportunity to teach kids about gardening!

Special thank you to our community garden, Community Champion Partners, and Summer Meals sponsors who helped make this possible: Mid Penn Bank, Chemglass Life Sciences, Scott Payne Custom Pools, M&T Bank, Pulte Group, American Executive Centers, Canopy, 6ABC, Columbia Bank, & Independence Blue Cross.
