In early November 2020, JYP visited Urban Creators in North Philadelphia to help beautify the outskits of their farm by planting tulips for the spring.  

The Urban Creators was founded in 2010 by a diverse group of young students, artists, activists, organizers, entrepreneurs and creators who came together with a vision to transform a two-acre plot of vacant land into a farm. Urban Creators helps generate fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers for weekly pop-up markets in this community. The market has now invested into local businesses, artists, and growers to help take a stake in their neighborhood.  Access to healthy food can be nonexistent due to a family’s zip code – 1 in 5 Philadelphians suffer from food insecurity. These are staggering numbers during such uncertain times.
