Ron Jaworski’s foundation, Jaws Youth Playbook, recently hosted their Annual Turkey Drive presented by ACME Nourishing Neighbors at VARE RECREATION CENTER in Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia. In 2024, we teamed up with Connor Barwin’s (Former Philadelphia Eagle) foundation Make the World a Better Place to help feed families in our own backyards. Each family was able to receive a frozen turkey, canned and fresh vegetables, desserts, along with fresh dinner rolls from Liscio’s Bakery, and many smiles. The event had a giving atmosphere complete with a hot chili, smoothie bar, an art station, and free books. The Foundation is grateful to everyone who supported the event at Vare. It was truly an amazing day filled with laughter, hugs, and smiles. Not only did we give away hundreds of turkeys, but we also donated $50,000 towards Make the World a Better Place to help create new playgrounds and new community gardens.
